"Geeks" es la forma de referirse en inglés a los que están muy metidos en el mundo de Internet, la tecnología, las comunicaciones... es decir, muchos son ingenieritos como yo, y en el siguiente enlace el CEO de Novell cuenta cómo llevarlos para que den lo mejor de sí.
Interesante para ver que al menos en algunos sitios se valora esa capacidad y que haciéndolo realmente se puede cambiar una empresa.

Mi homenaje al escritor más influyente en el mundo del 'management'.
Destacó por la claridad y sencillez de sus ideas, haciendo asequible a cualquiera los temas de gestión.
He leído varios artículos de él y un libro (The Effective Executive) y siempre me han parecido muy, muy buenos.
Hasta el momento de su muerte no paró de trabajar (el último libro lo publicó con 93 años...) y siempre ha sido un referente en los temas que trató.
Descansa en paz, Peter.

Barrancos (Canyoning)
Pues sí, hasta ahora no había puesto nada sobre algo que ya llevo haciendo un tiempo y que puede llegar a ser realmente apasionante, y que es el descenso de barrancos o cañones.
Y España es uno de los paraísos de este deporte que combina pateadas por zonas de montaña con acceso a lugares que sin las técnicas que se aplican, resultarían imposibles. De dichas técnicas destaca el rappel o bajada de desniveles ayudándose de cuerdas, anclajes, arneses y descensores u ochos (además de alguna cosa más que no me entretendré en mencionar).
Destacar que el aspecto más importante que hay que tener en cuenta si se practica este exigente deporte es el relativo a la seguridad, pues un fallo en determinadas condiciones puede significar un grave accidente. Pero para evitarlo, hay muchas medidas de precaución que se pueden tomar y que dependen de ti, afortunadamente.
Si alguien quiere saber más de todo esto, que me pregunte o se informe en alguna de las mucha páginas de internet que hay , entre las que destaca la de http://www.barranquismo.net.
Este fin de semana hemos hecho los barrancos de Cueva Cabrito (sábado 12) y el Barranco de Cautiecho (domingo 13 de noviembre 05), con un rappel de 40 metros (WOW!!) en la sierra de Guara (Huesca), lugar de referencia a nivel mundial.
El fin de semana anterior hicimos el Barranco del Viandico, junto con la Cueva de los Moros del Molino de Asó (junto al Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido), y el domingo el Barranco del Forato de Manatuero junto con el descenso de la Garganta Superior del río Yesa.
Tened cuidado y disfrutadlo si lo practicáis

A really incredible sport, where you are able to reach places and locations so difficult to access that you need to carry with you ropes, fixation elements, harnesses and descenders (named 'eights' because of their shape).
It's also a risky one, so you need to take a lot of security and precaution measures, because a mistake here and you can have very important injuries and sometimes, people practicing it, die. So take care if you are a practitioner.
Spain is one of the 'paradises' of this sport, and here you can find a lot of incredible places and locations.
For example, this weekend we descended two canyons, "Cueva Cabrito" and "Cautiecho", the last one with a 40 meters fall (first time I saw it, I gasped: "Coñó, esto es la leche!!". The two of them are located at "Sierra de Guara", a very special place with some of the "kings" of canyons.
